Resources & Strategies
We believe all children learn at different paces, in different ways and with gifts and challenges. Our Learning Support Center provides resources and instructional strategies that give students the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual support needed to learn.

Additional Support
Additional support is provided from the LSC, Learning Support Coordinator, through push- in classroom services as well as pull- out and small group experiences as needed.

Working Plan
Resource students are provided with a guide for success through the SST, Student Success Team. This is a group comprised of the classroom teacher, parents, the LSC, and may also include the principal and any additional professionals who work with the student. This team explores the strengths and challenges of students who have been referred by their classroom teacher. The team then devises a working plan to set the student up for success in the classroom/at school.

Lexia Core5 Reading
To ensure all students grow into confident, capable readers, OLF uses Lexia Core5 Readings part of our learning support program. Lexia is a technology-based program that provides personalized, adaptive reading instruction for students in grades Kโ5.
Focus areas: Phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension
Benefits: Targets each studentโs specific skill level, provides real-time data for teachers, and allows for differentiated small group instruction
Implementation: Used during learning lab time, in-class support blocks, or as part of intervention for students who need additional literacy practice
Lexia helps ensure that all studentsโwhether they need extra support or additional enrichmentโreceive the right instruction at the right time. It is one of the many tools we use to meet the diverse needs of our learners and support reading success for every child.
